Limitations

  • We don't assign or license GS1 numbers for retail.
  • Low contrast or colored bars may not scan; black on white is safest.
  • Print at 100% scale; resizing EAN/UPC outside the allowed range can cause rejections at retailers.

What is a check digit?

The last digit of EAN, UPC and ITF-14 codes is computed from the others to detect scanning errors. We add it or tell you if yours is wrong.

Can I generate barcodes in bulk?

This tool creates one barcode at a time.
